In effort to establish consistency with our effective communication with our staff and stakeholders, I am sharing this message from Human Capital:
Jefferson Parish students missed 2,500 minutes of instruction due to Hurricane Isaac. Given where student achievement levels are in the district, we felt that students could not afford to miss that much time in school.
The added instructional time is especially important for students whose promotion to the next grade is dependent on LEAP test scores, as well as high school students who need to pass End of Course tests in order to graduate. Every instructional minute is valuable, and we looked at this as an opportunity to provide our students with what they need – more time to learn.

Welcome to Geraldine Boudreaux Elementary School, a part of the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS). Boudreaux is a large elementary school with a population that ranges between 650- 700 students. Our grade levels begin at Pre-K and go to fifth, which includes one ESL designated class in every grade level. We currently offer Spanish Immersion in Kindergarten thru 5th grade. This program provides an opportunity for students to become bi-lingual. Additionally, we have four special education classes (i.e. two generic, one autistic, and one Pre-K SpEd class.) We have a staff of 44 teachers and 8 paras who are committed and dedicated to provide an appropriate and challenging education for students.
Hope to see you soon,
Kiplyn Pereira, Principal
